You’ve heard of pairing salt and chocolate, but have you tried umami and chocolate? This unexpected pairing is sure to wow, with a rich chocolatey flavor that is a step up from your typical brownie. Add in your favorite nuts, seeds, or chocolates for a brownie recipe… elevated.
Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
Combine melted chocolate, butter, eggs and sugar in a medium bowl.
Add the almond flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and Umami Sea Salt, mixing until just combined.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
Transfer to the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with additional Umami Sea Salt to your taste. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
Let cool before slicing. Enjoy!

I made these brownies, wow! The only thing I didn’t add was the 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, I thought it would be overkill. I think I was right. I roasted 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts, mmmmmmhh! They were devoured by the family. The umami salt flavor is subtle, just makes them very more-ish! This recipe is a keeper.
